Well, I wanted to answer cathy's thingything, but, I'll do it later!!! Apologies if I've already written about this!!! Hmm....Youtube seems to have some sort of disease and only have what I want in english. Ah well. If you can't remember what happens at the beginning of Inuyasha (honestly, how could you

) here's the link: http://www.veoh.com/search/videos/q/inuyasha+1#watch%3Dv17510642xjJ2AJ8A
There's no subtitles (it's quite obvious what's happening), but if you watch it, just watch the 1st scene. What I love about this is that you actually have no idea what's going on. You watch it, think "Bad guy steals jewel, good Miko shoots bad guy, both of them die" and have no idea of how heartbroken both of them are, and that they were in love (of some sorts; I think RT has said at some point it wasn't really love, but the point is, they thought it was). I find it really sad. I like the shock you get when you find out what actually happened, and I think the fact that this is the first thing you see intensifies this. Normally (not always, but fairly often) the beginning of a story sets the scene, tells you something that's true. In Inuyasha, this isn't the case, but you do see hints of what was actually going on really, really early on in the manga. Inuyasha says that Kikyou was prettier and looked more intelligent than Kagome does (http://www.onemanga.com/Inuyasha/2/06/) , which he wouldn't have said if he'd actually hated Kikyou. That's in chapter 2. Sorry, I find this endlessly fascinating, so I've probably written a long and boring essay

Alas, farewell!!
